Steam production is an essential process for more than 80% of the cooking and sterilising operations required to produce our nutritious and delicious cat and dog food products. As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we transitioned from Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) to Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) for steam production at Edgeworthstown, our flagship pouch manufacturing site in Ireland, earlier this year.

LPG is 26% less CO2 intensive per kWh than HFO, making it a far more environmentally friendly option. It’s a transition that required significant investment, underscoring our dedication to prioritising upgrades to our sites that enable more sustainable manufacturing practices.

As of April 2024, our Edgeworthstown site now runs entirely on LPG, marking a new chapter in our journey towards a more sustainable future.
